No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player in the world by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative feedback from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil started playing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
