Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve final game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While wagering on net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total dollar value. I think tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found betting on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in money games?
