Poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer declares "No further bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is akin to your beginning ante, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the bet comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, including an amount in accordance with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The dealer pays out cash even with your wager and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
