Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
He started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed many of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
